Malabar Pied Hornbill

Shivangini Tandon

This was in a village in North Goa where the surroundings do have fragments of forests and mangrove ecosystems. The Malabar Pied hornbills are sighted regularly - often on fishtail palms. This group looks like it was coming in to roost for the night and settled into a cluster of coconut, fishtail palms and other tall trees by the fields close to the river.
